Help:Contents
The Digital Natives Wiki is powered by MediaWiki software, the same software behind Wikipedia. For anything not covered in this FAQ, please visit the Mediawiki Handbook for a comprehensive guide to editing wikis.
How do I create an account?
To contribute to the wiki, please create an account. Then shoot us an email at digitalnatives@cyber.law.harvard.edu to verify your account. (Sorry for the extra hassle, there's unfortunately been too much spamming of late!)
How do I edit articles?
You must be verified and logged in in order to edit the wiki. To edit an article, be sure you'll viewing the article you'd like to edit and simply click on the Edit tab (third from the left) at top page. You'll come to a new editing page with a large box containing the article in editable form. Start typing!
How do I add a new article?
The process of adding a new article to a wiki is different from most websites, but it is supereasy. There are essentially two ways to do this:
1) Create a link from an already exciting webpage. For example, if you had an article about llamas and you wanted to link to a new article about camels, simply put double brackets around the word camel: [[camel]]. Click on the link, which will take you to a new page. Then click on edit tab and you have a new article ready to be written!
2) Type in the name of the new article after http://www.digitalnative.org/. For example type in http://www.digitalnative.org/camel. Once you get there, it's the same as 1.
(Note: The first method generally works better for titles that consist of more than one word because it corrects for spacing.)
